For Mateusz Grzybek, training has never been about shortcuts or showing off results. As an amateur triathlete training up to 20 hours a week while working full-time- consistency, trust, and marginal gains define everything he does.
Swimming, cycling, running - each discipline demands precision, discipline, and respect for the process. But until a few years ago, there was one area of performance he had never trained at all: breathing.
That changed in November 2021, when Airofit became a permanent part of his daily routine.
From Curiosity to Commitment
Mateusz first started using Airofit in late 2021. At the time, respiratory muscle training wasn’t something he had ever explored, or even considered necessary.
“I had never done any breathing exercises before Airofit,” he explains. “It just wasn’t part of my training world.”
But once he started, he didn’t stop. Over time, he trained with Airofit Pro 1.0, Pro 2.0, and eventually ELITE. Today, Airofit is as natural to him as brushing his teeth or drinking a glass of water in the morning.
“It became part of my routine,” he says. “Water, brushing teeth, Airofit. Every day.”
That consistency is also why Mateusz decided to represent the brand. He’s clear about one thing:
“I never do anything for show. If I don’t believe in a product, I won’t use it, and I definitely won’t recommend it.”
First Impressions of Airofit ELITE
When Mateusz unboxed Airofit ELITE for the first time, the difference was immediately noticeable.
“The color, the look - it gives a luxury mindset,” he says. “You can feel that this is a premium device.”
But what stood out most wasn’t just the hardware - it was the app.
Compared to previous versions, the Airofit ELITE app felt dramatically more intuitive, responsive, and fluid. Navigation was easier, feedback clearer, and sessions more engaging.
“I don’t need motivation to train,” Mateusz admits. “But the app still makes you want to do it. The responsiveness is a huge change - it’s almost shocking how big the improvement is.”
First Sessions: Learning to Embrace Discomfort
One of Mateusz’s favourite elements of Airofit ELITE is breath-holding training, especially sessions based on the 4-7-8 method.
Holding the breath wasn’t comfortable, and that was exactly the point.
“There’s a real fight with discomfort during breath holds,” he explains. “But that’s also where you feel the difference most clearly.”
With ELITE, the improvement was tangible. Compared to previous models, the feedback during breath holds felt more precise, more controlled, and easier to follow.
“It’s the perfect example of a measurable effect,” he says. “You can feel that something is happening.”

How ELITE Compares to Previous Airofit Devices
Having trained with multiple generations of Airofit, Mateusz immediately noticed the practical improvements in Airofit ELITE.
-
The main unit feels better seated and more stable
-
Switching between sessions is easier
-
The sensor feels more responsive
-
Battery life is significantly improved
“Four sessions with three exercises each, and the battery is still going strong,” he says. “That’s a big upgrade.”
Overall, training feels smoother and simpler - which matters when Airofit is something you use daily.
“It’s just easier to train,” Mateusz adds. “And when something is easier, you’re more likely to stay consistent.”
The Features That Matter Most
Asked about his top impressions of Airofit ELITE, Mateusz doesn’t hesitate.
-
Breathing awareness – “You feel your breathing more. It’s crazy how much control you gain.”
-
The new app layout – Clean, intuitive, and motivating.
-
Ease of training – Everything feels more natural and fluid.
One feature surprised him in particular: posture alerts.
“The alerts that tell you to sit straight - that’s something I didn’t expect,” he says. “But it makes a real difference.”
Performance Across All Three Disciplines
Mateusz originally started respiratory muscle training to improve swimming - the most challenging discipline for him.
And it worked.
But over time, he noticed changes across all three sports.
-
Swimming: Better control and lower perceived effort
-
Running: Higher pace with the same heart rate
-
Overall: Rarely experiencing high heart rate spikes
“Running faster, but the heart rate stays the same - that’s a clear signal something is working,” he explains.
Even recovery and sleep improved. According to his Garmin watch, Mateusz’s sleep quality score now consistently stays above 90.
“That’s a huge change for me,” he says.

Consistency Is Everything
If Mateusz had to give one piece of advice, it wouldn’t be about sessions or numbers.
“It’s all about consistency,” he says. “If someone who’s never played basketball picks up a ball, it takes time. Breathing is the same.”
He compares breath training to brushing your teeth - a habit that doesn’t feel optional.
“Everyone can find 10–15 minutes,” he says. “And over 2–3 weeks, it becomes automatic.”
And while Mateusz is an endurance athlete, he’s clear that Airofit isn’t only for athletes.
“This isn’t just for sport,” he explains. “It’s for health. For better sleep. For feeling better every day.”
Breathing as the Ultimate Marginal Gain
For Mateusz, respiratory muscle training fits perfectly into his philosophy of searching for marginal gains - small improvements that add up over time.
“RMT is like training all muscles at once,” he says. “It affects everything.”
From performance and recovery to sleep and daily wellbeing, breathing is no longer something he takes for granted.
It’s something he trains.
